
Claudio Cerchione
Prof. Claudio Cerchione works in Hematology Unit of Istituto Romagnolo per lo Studio e la Cura dei Tumori “Dino Amadori” (IRST) IRCCS, where he is Head of Myeloma Clinical and Research Group in the Comprehensive Cancer Care and Research Network of Romagna and Principal Investigator of many clinical trials company sponsored and non-company sponsored.
He graduated in medicine with honours from the Medical School at the University Federico II of Naples, Italy (July 2008), with a final thesis in Hematology.
He started his collaboration in Hematology Department, AOU Federico II, Naples, Italy, in 2006, and there he completed with honours his Fellowship in July 2014 and his PhD program in May 2017.
During his Fellowship and PhD studies, Prof. Cerchione studied in detail Hematological malignancies, and his main research topics are Multiple Myeloma and Acute Leukemias.
He has spent international research experiences in Friedrich-Wilhelms Universität, Bonn, Germany, in Universitade de Coimbra, Portugal, collaborating in their clinical and research projects, and in MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, USA, where he has been nominated International Ambassdor of SOHO (Society of Hematologic Oncology).
He is Editor or Reviewer for several highly cited international journals and member of several international societies and co-founder and President of Society of Hematologic Oncology Italy (SOHO Italy).
In 2018/2019 he was nominated by EHA as one of the winners of Clinical Research Training in Hematology, in which now he is member of the faculty.
He is author/co-author of more than one hundred papers in peer-reviewed international journals.
