About the author:

Sourav Bhattacharjee graduated with MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery) in 2004 from the Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata (India). After a brief period of Resident training in Orthopedic Surgery, he joined MSc in Biomolecular Sciences/Cell Biology in the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (2006). He subsequently moved to Edinburgh (UK), where he worked for almost fourteen months under the supervision of Prof. Vicki Stone at Napier University. Upon finishing his MSc, he began his PhD at Wageningen University (Netherlands) in 2008 which he successfully defended in 2012. Following that, he did a year of postdoctoral research at the University of Twente (Netherlands) followed by two years of postdoctoral work at the University College Dublin/UCD (Ireland). He is currently working at the UCD School of Veterinary Medicine as an Assistant Professor in anatomy. His research interest lies in utilizing nanobiotechnology and advanced microscopy tools for diagnostic and drug delivery purposes. His book, the Principles of Nanomedicine, is available now.
